SYMI en

Symi is a rocky, small island, north of Rhodes. The island was for centuries a very active maritime center, with famous shipbuilders. This gave quite prosperity to the local society, which is now manifested in the outsanding colourful architecture of the town-port of Symi. The town is renown as an architectural landmark of the culturally rich Aegean region, and recognized as one of the most beautiful little ports. Symi is a lady of the Eastern Aegean.

Symi also has a very scenic landscape. Her shoreline is extremely lacelike, with steep, rocky slopes; which create stunning hidden beaches. Though the island is mainly arid, there are some wild woods, which cover the few nooks of earth between the rocks and reach the coast, adding charm in the fabulous scenery.

Finally, Symi has a rich and living popular culture, which captures the visitor with its hearty character and spirit.

Symi is a first rate destination for the lover of the genuine Aegean beauty; a classy destination.
